Role Overview
The Senior Business Analyst serves as the critical bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams. This role focuses on analyzing legacy systems, identifying operational inefficiencies, and translating business needs into actionable technical solutions. The successful candidate will document requirements to guide future vendor selection and solution implementation, mapping current and future states while ensuring all final deliverables meet programmatic goals.

This role focuses on analyzing legacy systems, identifying operational inefficiencies, and translating business needs into actionable technical solutions. The successful candidate will document requirements to guide future vendor selection and solution implementation, mapping current and future states while ensuring all final deliverables meet programmatic goals.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering & Documentation
- Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and surveys to discover and define business needs.
- Translate abstract ideas and operational needs into structured Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs).
- Document comprehensive system specifications to be shared with vendors for future implementations.
System Analysis & Process Engineering
- Analyze legacy systems to identify current inefficiencies and areas for process improvement.
- Create use cases and process maps to visually illustrate current vs. future state environments.
- Prepare solution options, risk assessments, and financial analyses (e.g., cost/benefit, ROI, build vs. buy).
Scope & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the central point of contact between business users, technical delivery teams, and project stakeholders.
- Negotiate requirement trade-offs and manage stakeholder expectations regarding project scope, timelines, and costs.
- Work independently, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish project goals.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Participate in the testing phase by developing comprehensive test cases.
- Facilitate and document User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure the final product meets original business requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role.
- 8+ years of experience analyzing legacy systems, identifying inefficiencies, and proposing actionable technical solutions.
- 8+ years of experience serving as a liaison between the business community and IT/Technology teams (e.g., Architecture, Project Delivery).
- Demonstrated experience capturing, translating, and documenting complex business requirements and guiding UAT.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Strong background in data analysis, including the ability to analyze and interpret raw data.
- Experience with business process reengineering and industry-standard process mapping methodologies.
