Role Overview
The Data Engineer supports short-term, high-impact initiatives within the People Analytics and HR data domain. This role focuses on hands-on data integration, modeling, and migration efforts, primarily using Databricks. Key Responsibilities
Data Integration & Pipeline Development
Data Integration & Pipeline Development
- Design and build scalable data pipelines to ingest, process, and transform healthcare and HR data
- Ingest data from electronic health record systems and external data feeds
- Support data ingestion across raw, prepared, and curated layers for analytics use cases
ETL, ELT & Cloud Processing
- Develop and optimize ETL and ELT workflows using Databricks
- Work within cloud-based environments to ensure efficient, reliable data movement
- Translate stakeholder data requirements into effective processing solutions
- Maintain data quality, consistency, and integrity across pipelines
Data Modeling & Migration
- Support data model and dashboard migration from SQL Server environments to Databricks
- Archive legacy data into Databricks for long-term access and analytics
- Build and maintain analytical data models to enable HR and People Analytics reporting
Data Quality & Troubleshooting
- Perform data cleansing, validation, and reconciliation
- Investigate and resolve data-related issues and pipeline failures
- Ensure accuracy and reliability of analytical datasets
Documentation & Collaboration
- Develop and maintain documentation for data pipelines, workflows, and transformations
- Collaborate with business, analytics, and technical stakeholders
- Share knowledge to support maintainability and reproducibility of solutions
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience working as a Data Engineer in enterprise environments
- Recent, hands-on experience with Databricks for data processing and analytics
- Experience designing and supporting ETL and ELT pipelines
- Experience working with healthcare data or regulated data environments
- Strong SQL skills and experience with data modeling concepts
- Ability to work independently and quickly contribute in short-term engagements
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting HR, People Analytics, or workforce data domains
- Experience working with Azure-based data platforms
- Experience supporting Epic or Caboodle data environments
- Experience migrating data from legacy systems into modern analytics platforms
